Why a Cyber Security Coalition in Belgium?
In Belgium the fight against cybercrime is being conducted in a highly fragmented way. Despite many well-meant initiatives, everyone is currently still waging their own war against it. We are convinced that real progress in this field can only be made if all parties involved work together in raising the cyber security resilience in Belgium: the companies, the academic world and the public authorities.
“To fight cybercrime we need to join forces. Together we can make a difference.”
We have taken the initiative to found the Belgian Cyber Security Coalition, a unique representation of the three sectors: the academic world, the public authorities and the private sector joining forces in the fight against cybercrime. It is initially bringing together more than 50 key players in Belgium. The Cyber Security Coalition answers to the urgent need for a cross-sector collaboration to jointly raise the cyber security capability in Belgium. It brings together decision makers from the private, public and academic sectors to share knowledge & experience, raise awareness among citizens and organizations, issue recommendations for a more efficient policy and steer a national cross-sector cyber security approach.
